Mysticeti

Consensus with the lowest end-to-end
latency in blockchain

Be the first to know when Mysticeti is released on Sui Testnet.

How Mysticeti works

Mysticeti is a Byzantine Fault Tolerant consensus protocol, based on a direct acyclic graph (DAG), that builds upon the accomplishments of the Narwhal-Tusk consensus algorithm and improves upon its shortcomings.
Validators sign and share blocks without certification
50% reduction in round trips needed for block commits
Transactions inlined within a primary worker’s block
~100k transactions per second for consensus path
New commit rule appoints multiple leaders every round
More transactions are committed earlier
Mysticeti achieves commits within three message delays, which translates to about 500 milliseconds in a testing environment on a wide area network (WAN). Moreover, Sui's fast path for owned object transactions gets finality after two round trips, around 250 milliseconds on a WAN.
